E 004 WisPreps Podcast: Mitchell Cernek, AD Wauzeka-Steuben & Social Media

Mr. Cernek, Athletic Director at Wauzeka-Steuben has utilized WS-Hornets on Twitter and Facebook to promote the great Hornet teams, programs, and athletes of Wauzeka-Steuben.

While he started posting content himself a few years back, now he has students telling the great accomplishments of people in their school. Think having a positive social media presence can't be done in a small school?
Mr. Cernek and the Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets show us what works for them.

Check out the entire interview - you won't be disappointed.

The podcast isn't the only thing the AD is doing to get the word out about WS athletics.  Check out a weekly email and "game day notes" he sends to the school district and to workers.

Good afternoon all and Happy Friday,

Quick Recap of This Week
ICYMI: Jake Reichmann and Ravyn Krachey were named Valedictorian and Salutatorian (respectively) last week.  What an awesome achievement for these two 12-season athletes!

Boys Basketball: Gary Hines earned his 400th career win on Monday, February 10th against Boscobel, Gavin Ralph was nominated for Play of the Week on WKBT/News8000 out of La Crosse, and the boys earned their 2nd consecutive outright conference title with their win last night over Seneca.

Girls Basketball: The girls suffered a tough loss on the road at Kickapoo on Tuesday, ending their Ridge & Valley Conference winning streak at 16 games.  The Lady Hornets still control their own destiny as they seek back to back conference titles of their own.

Looking Ahead to Next Week
- All games are on the road next week, with the exception of a home MS Girls basketball game on Thursday, February 20th vs. De Soto.

- With a win tonight, girls basketball would be in a position to win at least a share of a conference title if they win at La Farge on February 20th.

- Please see the attachment for specifics regarding each athletic event next week (including all bus times).

Thanks everyone - have a great weekend!
